Nicolle Ament
Nicolle grew up dancing in Billings Montana at 4 years old, her love of dance grew and adding other styles at the age of 10; Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Modern soon.
Nicolle started assisting in classes at the age of 12 and teaching her own jazz and tap classes at 17. She attended the University of Montana earning a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance with an emphasis in Choreography, Performance and Teaching in 1999. In 2000-2004 she obtained the role of Assistant to the Artistic Director/Owner at Parker Dance Academy in Parker Colorado.
Nicolle has a passion for teaching and helping students and clients reach their goals. From 2004-2016 she owned and directed Billings Dance Academy. Her schools focus was quality dance training and technique, artistic expression and creative story telling through dance. In the spring of 2016 Nicolle made the change from studio owner to ‘dance instructor nomad’ sharing her knowledge and love of dance with area dancers, local dance schools and theater companies. She also danced with and choreographed for Terpsichore Dance company.
Nicolle has also trained and certified in UltraBarre, Progressive Ballet Technique and Pilates... giving her more tools and knowledge to help strengthen dancers and assist them through the physical demands of dance, injury recovery and prevention. She is very excited to be back in Montana again after 4 years in Oklahoma and even more elated to be teaching for MDAA, as she grew up attending!
